I hope you like this photo, took me a bit of time to think this out but I like how it came out, processed through 3 different softwares. I tried hard at separating the colours, hmm... what colors right? LOL. So, what do you think about it?
Concept: Free and easy model posture with a feel of old photographs in sepia tone but with higher details instead, making this photo a mixture of modern with the elements of old, including the use of colonial buildings with current fashion. The background is faded to achieve effects of old school photos, losing information and detail such as sky, and, including the bokeh with attention to the depth of field. But the foreground is modern, paying close attention to the sharpness of the stone tiles and its granular shades which taxed the lens quite a bit to have an old lens feel to a new lens feel in 1 photo alone.
All this elements within a photo ties into the concept that as we move from the back to the front, we tie in time into the loop, that is, from the old to the young and new.
Lighting: Close attention to lighting, in particular, face, neck, arms, hands and shoes. Careful placements of lighting plus use of natural sunlight to achieve this result. The idea was to be as subtle as possible and yet introduce Pantone variations across the range to increase information on the model. Particularly pleasing, the fingers are lit to my satisfaction, something that I have been working very hard towards, a 3D effect to fingers.
Skin tone: Model skin tone rendered on a MacbookPro. Slightly milky white but complementing the sepia toned background with distinct difference between sepia and skin tone. Again, the lack of a sepia tone on the model reflects her modernity.
